Oh, this earth? Nothing to see here

You had no need to come to this world

Your years of travel are wasted, I fear

~.~

You likely have a better deck, better beer

We can’t impress you with flags unfurled

Oh, this earth? Nothing to see here

~.~

There’s nothing special about a year

Were you impressed when the samaras twirled?

Your years of travel are wasted, I fear

~.~

The planet’s body has many a peer

Mountains, magnetism, even oceans pearled

Oh, this earth? Nothing to see here

~.~

There are growing things, it’s true that’s queer

We’ll grant that DNA is inheritance, whirled

Your years of travel are wasted, I fear

~.~

What you hope to find isn’t clear

Notice over what our fingers curled

Oh, this earth? Nothing to see here

Your years of travel are wasted, I fear

I love this, the repetitive language really adds to the overall impact of the piece! Great work Matthew!!
