In the Midst of Summer

Where In My Heart I Am Yours

I felt the sun caress my thoughts of you

And saw your face in the midst of summer

If only I could feel the likes of you

Bringing back the times that I remember

When I was younger and free to be me

You found me quite charming and beautiful

You had me and held me for all to see

The love of your life, indisputable

Then all at once on a warm summer day

While lying closely in the afterglow

Your heart stopped beating and you went away

Never returning to the life I know

Now, when in the sun I keep you near me

Where in my heart I am yours, but dearly
