i

(break)

my body flows

like molasses

between your teeth.

sweet/soft/smooth.

i am carved

like clay

in your hands.

malleable.

you hold me

like a potter

at the wheel.

i’ll be whoever you need me to be.

i am the wind

between

your fingers.

never really there.

i want jagged edges

bones that cut

flesh.

but i am soft.

i want feet-

not wings

to stand.

just for a minute.

i want to be

Aphrodite

not Medusa.

but i am cursed.

am i enough

on my own

or do i need you.

i never feel like enough.

my body breaks

between your arms

and i smile.

because i broke.
