I Love You

Everyone thinks I hate you

Everyone thinks I hate you.

You sent my carefully fabricated reality

Toppling

And walked away.

You took me in your hands

Played with my heart

And dropped in on your way out.

You punched a fist

In my life

And let the glass shatter.

If anyone says my name you say “who?”

So everyone thinks I hate you.

I love you, though.

I love the rage you planted in me

That has grown into my strength.

I love the life you forced me to make

Out of the shambles you left

It’s twice as beautiful.

I love the scars on my heart

The journey you made me take.

I love you for that

And always will.
