For My Grandmother On Her 85th Birthday
My Mother’s Mother
For all the times
You cared
And so few times
You swear
I love you.
To all the years
The ups the downs
The tears
The laughter
And the frowns
I honor you.
You made it through.
And even now
As time goes on
Your light still shines bright
In my eyes.
High as the sky
To me.
And sometimes
When I think of you
Though there will never be
Another you
I know your life
Lives on in me
And that I pray
You too can see.
But that I wear a different shoe
Let me walk
In light of you.
With open arms
Stretched long and wide
I have in you
Found my pride.
Yes, my Dear
I love you so
My oldest
Dearest
Parent Love
