Churning of the Ocean
A poetic rendition of the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean)
In ages past, when gods and demons clashed, Mount Mandara rose, a colossal mast. The ocean churned, its waves a tempest’s dance, Seeking amrita—the elixir of life’s chance.
Vasuki, the serpent, coiled in sacrifice, Devas and asuras, their strength put to the test. Together they pulled, tugging fate’s thread, Mount Mandara quaked, its secrets to be shed.
From depths emerged wonders, both dark and fair, Lakshmi, radiant, vanished into the cosmic air. The poison Halahala threatened all existence, Yet Shiva, the blue-throated, drank with resilience.
Garuda soared, Vishnu’s mount unwavering, As gods and demons labored, their purpose unswerving. Kurma, the turtle, bore the mountain’s weight, Balancing realms, destiny’s intricate gate.
The ocean yielded treasures—a celestial array, Emeralds, sapphires, and the moon’s silver ray. But amrita, the nectar, held life’s sweet refrain, Hidden for gods alone, their immortal gain.
Lessons echoed through each churned wave: Collaborate, balance, and selflessness engrave. Seek wisdom, protect, and find divine grace, In the Samudra Manthan, life’s eternal embrace. 🌟
