Stepping through the front door,

you walk down through the hall,

mixed up pairs of odd shoes,

are scattered on the floor.

#

Coats draped across the bannisters,

clean clothes folded on the stairs,

waiting to be taken up,

with socks which need their pairs.

#

The living rooms no better,

I think we’ve had a bomb!

No where at all to sit down,

where did all this stuff come from?

#

Paperwork needs sorting through,

recycled or filed away.

Look at all those bank statements!

Save those for another day.

#

The baskets full of washing,

the clothes in there are mine,

waiting for a sunny day,

to hang out on the line.

#

The kitchens not much better,

pots and pans are on the hob,

the problem is the washing up,

seems a never ending job!

#

The bed may not be made,

but the sheets are always fresh,

clean clothes may sit on top of them,

ready for when I get dressed.

#

The bathroom may not be tidy,

but notice the shiny chrome,

this house is always gleaming.

My messy home sweet home!
