My name is Alberto
And I’m the last Dino
Called an Albertosaurus
Which you knew of course
Long ago, this land was an ocean
Lounging Dinos, the only commotion
Dinos with floaties and sunglasses
Before the big bang kicked our asses
Lands shifted and changed
The continent rearranged
Now I live in a place called Alberta
Or as they call it, good old ‘berta
Overrun with people and driving machines
Or filmmakers shooting movie scenes
Humans now worry about something called a salary
With no need to hunt their food in the city of Calgary
They buy it with cards made of plastic
Which us Dino’s think is fantastic
So now I spend my days floating down the bow river
And accepting my meals from companies that deliver
Life is much different than it was back then
But I will admit that I still miss my friends

Aw, poor, lonely Alberto! But he's adjusting well!
What a delightful start to my day! Such a chirpy chap! I would have seen Bow River when I visited Banff just a few years ago, in 1984!🤣 Jimmy Barnes was singing along to Bow River, as I read!😃
Haha. This is great. Well done.
I'm impressed the dinos are getting down with modernity there and using credit cards.
Oh wow, I never knew there was a dinosaur called Albertosaurus and I loveeeeee dinosaurs so much. Looks like there's still a lot for me to learn hahahaha. Alberto sounds pretty chill, I'd hang out with him. Hope he likes coffee and potato chips 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I loved your poem D!
Just floating down a lazy river, it's a dino's life for me!
Good ole Albert. Great one , I like how you focused on a famous Alberta Dino I wish you would have given a shout out to Drumheller
That is one old dino. Bro must've found the fountain of youth, or in a saddened twist has cancer due to the asteroid impact that's been keeping him alive as cancer cells are immortal. Makes me think he found the right balance of cancer and chemo.
Man I love dinosaurs! The kind of thing that humans never really grow out of :) how strange is it to think that we have only known about them for a couple hundred years at most. Before that we just had no idea that they had ever existed. Crazy! Loved your poem! The silliness of an Albertosaurus floating lazily down the river getting Macca's from an app tickles me! Awesomely done, my friend!
