Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe was in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

If you'd like to learn more about birth charts, feel free to send me an email at [email protected] or visit my tumblr page! Right now, I'm completing sample chart readings for free—covering your sun, moon, and rising signs, as well as the planets in your first three houses.

Every birth chart has 12 houses. These are the 12 houses (of the zodiac... I guess), and each house symbolizes something different. I've decided to start a series where I talk about each house of the zodiac, to help everyone learn a little more about themselves! Check out my profile for the other articles on the other houses.

The 4th house of the zodiac talks about where you come from, your deepest thoughts and desires, what you feel in your soul, your hidden persona, and your purest energies.

If you haven't already gotten your birth chart, I encourage you to go to astro.com and enter your information. The chart is completely free, and it shows you all of your signs and planets and placements. Once you've done that, follow along with me while we explore the fourth house!

This is my birth chart...

As you can see in the picture, there are little numbers on the inside of the circle, near the middle. You'll notice that each number matches a section, and there are little symbols in there. Each section represents a house, and the symbols represent planets. Use the box on the left side to match the images with the planets if you don't already know!

If you're following along with me (and I'm explaining it right), you should be able to tell that my fourth house is empty.

DISCLAIMER: I have gained this information from various sources on the internet. If you see something in here that may be yours and you would like it removed, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Sun in the 4th house: You were raised as the pride of the family, and though you love it, you can also hate this. It places too much pressure on you, and it makes you feel as if you need to be considered in every decision at home. You demand respect but your success comes with guilt.

Moon in the 4th house: You are very influenced by your mother, especially in your design choices. You're deeply moody but good at hiding your moodiness. You spend a lot of time at home, where its cozy and warm.

Mercury in the 4th house: You will always be obsessed with your home. You feel very connected to your roots and feel that you work best and learn best from home. This is where you process your thoughts, so you need communication to stay afloat. You're picky when it comes to your design choices, but you can also be a bit messy.

Venus in the 4th house: Your roots and family origins are very important to you. You take pride in the way your home looks as well as the experiences that you have there. You want your home to be a harmonious representation of your charm and appeal. You are the flower of your family, and you should be careful that your design choices don't turn gaudy.

Mars in the 4th house: Home can be a destructive place for you. It may have been filled with lots of anger and arguing as you were growing up, and one of your goals has always been to create a better home life than the one that you received – if you want to have a home at all. You're bossy and a leader in your home and will always fight for your family, but others may see your good intentions as demanding.

Jupiter in the 4th house: Growing up, there was always lots of love and/or money to go around. You think home is the best place in the world and may never leave. You sometimes feel the urge to run away, but you know you'll always come back home. Your design is worldly and you love to invite others into your home.

Saturn in the 4th house: You needed a specific type of family situation growing up, and you feel like you never got it. It will take years to build what you needed. Your home life was restricted and you were always learning lessons, especially from other people in your home. You may not decorate at all if you feel too limited.

Uranus in the 4th house: There's lots of internal energy at home with people coming and going. You had parents that taught you strange ways or values, so you're naturally rebellious. Home is a canvas for your rebellious taste, and you sometimes rebel against your crazy family. Others see you as the normal one.

Neptune in the 4th house: Ignorance can be bliss and you can get lost in your imagination about what your life really is, but this may not be true. You tend to be nonchalant, but you care about what happens at home. You're the scapegoat of your family's projection.

Pluto in the 4th house: You're destructive. You find it hard to part ways with your family, even if they were abusive. You're always internally transforming. Living with others is a source of convention for you, and you will be transformed many times at home. Your tastes will change severely as you grow up.

Chiron in the 4th house: You will need to connect to your emotional roots in order to heal yourself. You suffered a lot in your childhood, so you have an intense and brooding nature. You have the potential to be an excellent communicator.

True Node in the 4th house: Emotional and spiritual growth will happen for you. You will realize that material success does not bring happiness. Your greatest desire is full maturity, and your home life is important to you.

With an empty 4th house, you won't focus much on home life, roots, family, or the past.

A stellium occurs when there are four or more planets in the same house. With a stellium in the 4th house, you will benefit from taking the energies out of your home and putting them into a professional activity.

There's always more to learn! The signs on the outer ring of each house also play a part in determining your personality, and I include those readings in my birth charts readings! Thanks for reading and come back next time to learn about the 5th house!
