A Tale Of Spin The Bottle Matchmaking

It was a Friday night and Kate invited some of her friends to her house. They were going to have a fun night at home playing games, eating and drinking, watching movies. One of the friends, Linda, a few days before asked if she could invite some of her guy friends to Kate's place. Kate said it was fine. Kate didn't know any of these guy friends or so she thought. They all went to the same college.

First, all of the friends started watching a movie and having snacks. Then, Linda decided that they should start a game of spin the bottle. Everyone was single and you could get a second chance if you wanted to kiss someone else instead. Most of the friends went until there were only two people who have yet to kiss one of which was Kate. Kate spins the bottle and it lands on the remaining person, Mark. They make out and appear to have good chemistry.

All of the friends are finished playing with the bottle and Mark and Kate decide to hang out alone. They see the bottle is still hanging out and everyone else seems to be interested in cocktails and other drinks. They decide they would drink some of the bottle especially since Mark loves merlot. They drink a little while watching the rest of the movie that was playing before they played spin the bottle. They decide they want to make out again and talk about having a date the next night at his place. They talk for a while and Kate realizes that she went to the same middle school as Mark but never met since she was a grade below him. They decided that they would save the rest of the merlot for their first actual date tomorrow. They gathered back up the other friends to watch another movie until it was time for everyone to leave.

After the movie was over, everyone left except Linda since she wanted to help Kate clean up and talk about Kate's experience with Mark. Kate told Linda that she and Mark went to the same middle school. Linda talked about how sometimes the universe works in mysterious ways by connecting people from the past into present life. Linda revealed that she was hoping she could match one of her friends with Kate since she knew Kate was looking for a boyfriend for a while. She hoped that Mark and Kate would work out. She eventually leaves Kate’s house after they’re done cleaning.

The next day, Kate wakes up and remembers she has a date with Mark. She picks out a cute outfit and got what she needed to get done for the day before heading out for the date at Mark’s house. Meanwhile, at Mark’s house, he makes spaghetti and meatballs and grabs the merlot bottle to put on the table. She arrives and they enjoy the meal while talking about if they want to be in a relationship. They hung out the rest of the night chatting and playing games while finishing the bottle. They went on a few more dates around town and decided they wanted to date each other.

Kate and Linda talked after Kate decided she was going to date Mark. Kate was grateful for Linda indirectly setting them up.

Mark was graduating in a few months while Kate still had another year. Months later, Kate attended his graduation and agreed they would stay together for as long as it would work out.
