KITCHEN PRINGS
Chapter Two.Go back
home Isha's time had long passed, when Aditya arrived at his yard. The village atmosphere is very quiet. Panjerpati Village, which is on the slopes of Mount Gedang, is indeed quiet. Residents prefer to stay at home rather than being cold in the weather outside. Aditya stared for a moment at the house he had left for the past three years. Lots of dry leaves came onto the terrace. The leaves come from the rambutan tree which is so dense in his yard. There was a panjer lamp on the terrace which he turned on before leaving. However, now the light is off. Maybe it broke because it has been on non-stop for the past three years. Before his feet stepped on the terrace, the tall boy turned to the house next door. His eyes were fixed on the adult waist-high wall that separated his house from Paklik Samsul's house. It seemed like a new wall, because before he left the wall didn't exist. After exhaling slowly, Aditya stepped into the house. When the door opened, a musty air invaded his sense of smell. He walked along the side of the wall to look for a switch to turn on the living room lamp. Unfortunately, the light also went out. He turned on the living room light. And the result is the same. The boy snorted in annoyance then took groping steps towards the small cupboard next to the television. Usually, when the mother was still alive, she liked to put candles there. That's the only hope. After searching hard, his hand finally managed to touch the white object. Aditya took a lighter from his trouser pocket, then lit the candle. The candlelight immediately illuminated the entire room even though it wasn't very bright. The boy plopped down on the dusty sofa. All the furniture is dusty, the floor is also very dirty. Three years have really made this house cobwebbed and stuffy.

His eyes scanned the entire house. Still the same as when he left it. The only difference is that now it's very dirty and also more... quiet. There is no longer the father and mother who were always there for him. There was no Arum, his only younger sister whom he used to tease. He hadn't stopped teasing before his mother shouted from the kitchen. “Adittt! Don't tease your sister. Mom hasn't finished cooking yet. "Be careful, if Arum cries, just run away." Her mother's screams came from the kitchen. “Mother, Mas Adit is naughty. I finished my snack." Arum's voice was sulky. Arum almost cried before he finally took out the snack that was in his mouth and then put it in Arum's mouth. Before the five year old boy cried and made Mother even more annoyed. "Mother! Mas Adit is naughty. His mouth marks were given to me." And finally Arum really cried. “Aditt!” With a thousand steps he would run out of the house leaving Arum crying and his angry mother. He was very happy to do that. Aditya smiled bitterly remembering all the memories created in this house. Everything looks sweet and runs normally. Their family was so happy before something unreasonable happened to their family.

Starting with Arum's sudden death. Followed by the mother and then the father. The boy growled with anger when he thought of all the deaths that hurt his heart again. *** Aditya has been at home for a week. He spends time during the day cleaning the house. Replacing dead lights and buying groceries. Even though he is a man, he is used to doing women's work. Since the mother was sick, to be exact. He was forced by circumstances to be able to do everything. "Hey, Adit. When are you coming home? Where have you been all this time?" asked a middle-aged woman wearing a black kebaya and dark brown sari. “To Surabaya, Mbah Las. Work," Adit answered with a forced smile. He then put down his sickle and approached the woman to greet her. “Oh no. I wonder where I'm going, why suddenly you're never seen at home? Are you healthy, Le?" Mbah Lasmi's house is only two houses away from his house. The elderly woman used to often send food when her mother and father were sick. He had just left at that time, so Mbah Lasmi was surprised when he saw him at home pruning dry branches on the rambutan tree. Several of his neighbors who met him yesterday also admitted that they were surprised to see him suddenly at home. “Thank God you are healthy, Mbah. How are you doing yourself? Are you healthy?" Adit asked back. “Yes, parents are healthy, Le. Yes, like this, every month you have to check in with the health center." The woman chuckled slightly. Aditya laughed along with the corner of his eye that caught a slender figure watching through the slightly opened curtains. From the next house which is separated by a dividing wall.

Mbah Lasmi then said goodbye and told Aditya to go to his house to play. The boy agreed and then stopped his work cleaning the branches he had just pruned. He glanced for a moment at the curtains which he quickly closed because he felt he had been caught peeking. *** Night has covered the earth. The cold wind hit his face as Aditya slipped out the back door of his house. Wearing a batik-patterned udeng on his head and wearing all black clothes, the sweet-faced boy walked along the path that passed through the neighboring gardens. Several times he brushed aside mosquitoes that he accidentally hit. The atmosphere was so quiet. Above the sky is clear, but it still creates darkness on the earth. Aditya walked quickly along the path that led to the rice fields ahead. It was as if the dark road ahead did not disturb his vision. The boy finally arrived at a stretch of rice fields that looked gray. The rice fields of the Panjerpati Village residents are known to be fertile and produce the best quality rice. Aditya quickly entered deeper into the rice field area. Walking on rice fields as if the road were smooth and wide Korean asphalt. Not long after, he arrived at the very edge of a rice field bordering the slopes of Mount banana.

He stopped. Observe. In front of him, the rice which had started to bear seeds looked so fertile. The stems are fresh green and fat. Indicates if there is enough water and is well cared for. After ensuring that the situation was safe, Aditya then circled the five thousand five hundred square meter rice field seven times with his mouth chanting mantras. His footsteps were normal, but they looked almost flying. It only took fifteen minutes for him to successfully circle the rice fields covering almost half a hectare. After circling the rice fields, the thin man sat cross-legged to the north of the rice fields facing south. Slowly he raised his hands up with his face looking up at the dark sky. His mouth returned to reading the spell he had memorized by heart. A few moments later his hands came down and cupped his chest. His eyes were closed with his mouth continuing to chant the spell. Repeat the mantra a thousand times. A few moments later the heat began to spread through his body. The cold air around him turned warm..

The boy then pulled his elbows and with a burst of internal energy he pointed his palms at the rice field in front of him accompanied by his mouth blowing as hard as he could. The rice trees in front were seen bending as the wind blew from Aditya's mouth. The guy then repeated it seven times. Aditya pulled the corners of his lips, then he got up. Feeling satisfied with what he did. Staring for a moment at the expanse of rice fields which were still withered, then moved away accompanied by the sound of a crow which suddenly croaked loudly on a pule tree which was not far from where the boy had been sitting.
