Goodbye Earth Review: Perfect for Those Who Love Sci-Fi

Only the sorrow, pain, and suffering of the characters were being shown, and for a time all that seemed good too, but who can bear to experience those things continuously, non-stop, for 12 hours?

Goodbye Earth Review

After a long wait, the Netflix show "Goodbye Earth" is finally out. It was supposed to come out in 2022 or 2023, but one of the main actors, Yoo Ah-in, got in trouble for drugs. Now, to avoid spoiling the image too much, Netflix delayed this K-drama after that controversy, and finally, after many edits, this K-drama has come in front of us.

In this K-drama, "Goodbye Earth," Yoo Ah-in's role has been removed completely, and he now appears as a supporting cast member.

If we talk about basic details, then this K-drama includes a total of 12 episodes whose length is around one hour each.

I have seen this K-drama in Hindi, and to be honest, its Hindi dubbing has been given a good standard.

If you want, you can follow this series with your family, but keep in mind that there are some very brief adult scenes, and along with this, there are also a lot of kissing scenes.

So if you can avoid them, then follow this show with your family; otherwise, watch it alone.

One more thing: let me tell you that this K-drama does not target everyone; it has been made for a special audience. Now, before coming to what that special audience is, let me give you a little idea of the story.

Story

This show is based on a webtoon set in Korea, where everyone is facing a huge crisis: an asteroid is heading towards Earth and will hit in just 200 days, and the people who are there have only 200 days to live.

So in the remaining 200 days, what is the true nature of humans? I mean, how are humans going to behave? So much rioting is going to happen in the cities, and how was the life of the main characters before the arrival of the asteroid? Watch this K-drama to know all that.

Goodbye Earth Netflix Review

If I talk about the show, its concept is no doubt strong, and it is not that nothing has been made on this concept before Don't Look Up, The End of F##ing Days, This is The End and many more movies or web series that you will get on this concept.

I liked the first three to four episodes, and like me, when you watch this show, you too will keep expecting something big, but trust me, nothing like that happens; this series keeps you confused until 12 episodes.

I was continuously waiting for something would happen now, and this wait will continue for 12 episodes. The show stretched out for 12 hours, with just people talking and nothing else happening.

And I am telling you the truth: these conversations are so boring that after a while, you will be completely fed up with this K-drama.

I don't think there will be many audiences who can tolerate this show for more than four or five episodes. That's why I am very unhappy with it; it felt to me very boring, for which there are two or three simple reasons:

First of all, the story that this K-drama presents to us is interesting, but the way it has been presented or edited fails to provide us a proper flow.

The story keeps traveling in the past or present, and you can get so confused that you will not know whether the story is going on in the past or the present.

The reason behind the new editing of this show is the actor's drug case; he was the main hero of this K-drama, and his story has almost been removed by the makers. Because of this, when you watch this drama, you feel its impact in its editing, and while doing this, you will not even realize who is the main hero in the show.

Neither is there any action in the show, nor is there any intensity in the characters, nor are there any surprises or shocking moments that can give you at least a little fun.

Only the sorrow, pain, and suffering of the characters were being shown, and for a time all that seemed good too, but who can bear to experience those things continuously, non-stop, for 12 hours?

Now you will also agree with me that the visual presentation of this K-drama is quite strong; whether it is the cinematography or the production quality, everything is of a very high level, and even the intro song is impressive.

Conclusion

So if I conclude my words, I would just say that if you like watching movies or web series with dystopian or disaster situations, if you can spare 12 hours, you can tolerate the conversations. Then, not with much expectation, you can check out this K-drama once.

Otherwise, I would suggest you watch Don't Look Up better than Goodbye Earth.

Due to having so many characters, the plot of the show starts feeling messy; no one has been given proper development; you are hardly able to connect with anyone's story; the characters do not provide the emotional depth that should have been there; and the biggest reason is its editing.

I did not see a single thing for which I could praise it, at least a little.
