Alison Brie Video Compendium

Everything but what she's known for

Alison Brie has appeared in a lot of films and movies. Her oeuvre also contains a lot of obscure short films. This is an overview of what they are, and what's worth watching, in chronological order.

Stolen Poem (2003)

Years before she would be in anything else, a young Brie appeared in this short film about thieves stealing mail.

Worth watching? Not really, Brie only appears for a few seconds to hand the thieves, who are disguised as postal workers, a letter.

Buddy 'n' Andy (2008)

A surrealist buddy comedy about a butcher and an anthropomorphic steak.

Worth watching? If you like postmodern weirdness, sure. There's not much Brie though. She has no lines, only appears in the beginning, dancing with the steak in a dream.

Salvation, Texas (2008)

A father sees only one way to take away his daughter's pain: kill the man responsible. But is justice worth the cost?

Worth watching? I don't know, the full 17 minute film doesn't seem to be available anywhere. From the trailer Brie appears to be the victimized daughter.

My Alibi (2008 - 2009)

It is a bit of a mystery why Brie would bother to appear in this low-rent Breakfast Club knock off be when she was already appearing in Mad Men. Perhaps it was part of the 2000's that actors thought they needed to get onto YouTube.

Worth Watching? Mostly no. The videos in this web serries are about 3 minutes each, including a recap of previous episodes, theme song and closing credits -- which can make it a grinding experience to watch all 18. Shame since this could have been a kind of Community precursor (Brie plays an overachieving high school student). Just watch the one with Brie in sexy spy mode. And maybe the one where she gets hammered on cough syrup.

Us One Night (2009)

At an engagement party three friends try to reset their love lives. Brie isn't one of those friends.

Worth watching? Another one there's only a trailer for. Even that is not really worth watching. Brie says "Hey" in it.

Hot Sluts (2009)

Every actor has at least one project they're embarrassed about, I have to imagine for Brie that project is Hot Sluts. Not because of the web serries' fixation on her cleavage; Brie is after all comfortable doing nudity (very comfortable). But rather because of the overall misogynistic tone. The concept was probably to make a parody of old sexploitation films, but then it just ended up being a sexploitation film. Brie is a novice cocktail waitress who aspires to be a dancer and is romancing a busboy known for promising electronics in exchange for oral sex.

Worth watching? You didn't hear it from me, but yes. While the videos are PG-13 territory, be careful because searching for them can generate some very NSFW results.

The Committee (2010)

Brie submits an idea to an agency that patents sex moves.

Worth watching? Only if you think describing the most disgusting sex acts possible is humor.

Alison Brie Complex Photoshoot HQ (2010)

Brie making bedroom eyes

Worth watching? This video appears to be a degraded copy, but still yes.

Alison Brie's Men's Health Photoshoot (2011)

Brie talking style interspliced with sexy poses

Worth watching? Yes.

Dream Girl (2013)

Brie and real life partner Dave Franco make long shot bets with their relationship at stake.

Worth watching? Sure. It's a bit of gross out comedy.

Alison Brie Creates Unsexy .GIFs - Speakeasy

Brie actively tries to be as unappealing as possible.

Worth watching? Nah.

The ArScheerio Paul Show (2013)

Ok, I might have spoken too soon about Hot Sluts being the most embarrassing piece. The mere existence of these sketches is baffling, who on Earth thought they were a good idea? Paul Scheer did a serries where he remakes of 20 year old episodes of The Arsenio Hall Show. I guess he gets points for not putting blackface on, but not many. Brie plays guest Madonna. Also there is Rosie O'Donnell played by a man. For several cringing minutes the show implies that O'Donnell and Madonna are sleeping with each other when they aren't sleeping with numerous men. Then Madonna's dad appears, played by Weird Al, and it's then implied that he had molested Madonna.

Worth watching? No. There are no jokes. There is sex talk throughout but it's not sexy at all. Quite uncomfortable to watch.

Mad Men's Allison Brie Would Choose Roger Sterling Over Don Draper - Vanities - Vanity Fair (2014)

A photoshoot and interview.

Worth watching? Not essential.

GQ Mexico- Alison Brie (2015)

1 minute of her in swimsuits

Worth watching? Yes

Behind the Cover with Alison Brie (2018)

Her Fashion magazine photo shoot

Worth watching? There's not much here, but it is less than a minute.

Alison Brie for Gotham Magazine (2018)

Another photoshoot!

Worth watching? Not essential.

Beck - Colors (2018)

The only music video Brie appears in (unless you count carpool karaoke). She in a Marylin Monroe-esque dress doing a silly dance to this pop song.

Worth Watching? If you like Beck.

Alison Brie Explores ASMR (2019)

This is turning into a kind of archelogy of different trends on the web. Brie whispers and makes scratching noises while talking about past projects.

Worth watching? I couldn't get past the fact that there are two mics yet the video only has mono sound.

ALISON BRIE x BASIC Magazine (2020)

A minute of photoshoot posing

Worth watching? There's a freeze frame moment in there.

The Cast of Community Reunites for Table Read (2020)

A very early COVID era video. The cast of Community reunites over zoom to do a table read of season 5 episode 3, "Cooperative Polygraphy" with Pedro Pascal substituting for Walton Goggins.

Worth watching? It seems kind of pointless to watch this when you can go and watch the original episode. Yet, it's fun to see the cast crack up while trying to get through their lines. Could help hold you over while waiting for the Community movie to come out.

Dave Franco and Alison Brie Read Thirst Tweets (2023)

This BuzzFeed video is what it promises. Her and Franco did a bunch of segments in promotion of Somebody that I Used to Know. Dave Franco & Alison Brie Take a Couples Quiz for GQ. Dave Franco Almost Forgot THIS Iconic Alison Brie Line for Elle. Dave Franco & Alison Brie Might Get Divorced Over This... Expensive Taste Test for Cosmopolitan. Seems like these magazines are doing gimmicks to try and distinguish themselves, but these are basically just interviews.

Worth watching? I mean if you made it this far in the article you might be interested to know that there are people far hornier for Brie than you could ever hope to be. You only need to watch those other videos if you're writing a biography of one of them.
