8 Things to Know About Hallmark Actress Cindy Busby
Cindy Busby has moved over to the GAC Family channel, but she is still remembered for her Hallmark movies.
1. Background
Cindy Busby was born on March 18, 1983 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was only a child when she began thinking about becoming an actress.
2. Education
While Cindy was in elementary and high school, she performed in every play that was available. As soon as she graduated from high school, Cindy applied for and was accepted into the Professional Theater Program at Dawson College in Montreal. She trained for three years, and her training began to pay off immediately. She received an award for her academic achievement and began getting movie roles. It seemed as if Cindy's childhood dream was coming true.
3. Official Acting Career
When Cindy was only 16 years old, she began her official acting career in 1999. She started out acting in the theater because she moved over to act exclusively in movies on television in 2005. She is well-known for playing the part of Ashley Stanton in Heartland. From 2007 through 2011, the young actress starred in 51 episodes of that popular Canadian family drama that aired on CBC.
4. Cindy Busby's Hallmark Movies
It seemed like having a role in a Hallmark movie is a right of passage. Like so many other Hallmark actors and actresses, Cindy acted in some supporting roles before she became a lead actress. Her first Hallmark movie in a supporting role was Lucky in Love in 2014. At the same time, Cindy was also acting in another supporting role in Cedar Cove as Rebecca Jennings in 2014 and 2015.
Acting in supporting roles was good experience and exposure for Cindy. Her supporting roles were stepping stones to roles as the main character in 12 Hallmark movies and in guest appearances in three episodes of When Calls the Heart. Her most popular Hallmark roles were in Unleashing Mr. Darcy in 2016 and Marrying Mr. Darcy in 2018. Both movies have had over 3 million viewers. That's not surprising because Cindy had great chemistry with popular actor Ryan Paevey.
5. Hallmark Co-Stars
Cindy has shown great chemistry not only with Ryan Paevey but also with Christopher Russell. She acted in two movies with Peavey and three movies with Russell. Busby and Russell had starring roles in the 2016 movie A Puppy for Christmas, the 2020 movie Love in the Forecast, and in their movie Chasing Waterfalls in 2021.
6. Cindy Busby on GAC Family
Chasing Waterfalls was Busby and Russell's last Hallmark movie together. In fact, it was their last Hallmark movie because both of them left the Hallmark channel and moved to the GAC Family channel.
Busby and Russel starred in two different GAC Christmas movies in 2021. Busby was the lead character in Joy for Christmas, and Russell had a starring role in A Lot Like Christmas. Perhaps they will act together in a GAC movie. Fans of both actors would like to see that happen.
7. Personal Life
Even though Cindy has shown great chemistry with Paevey and Russell on the screen, she is married in real life. According to both Instagram accounts, Cindy and producer Chris Boyd announced their marriage on December 23, 2020 after dating for four years. Busby and Boyd live in Los Angeles, California.
8. Social Media
Cindy keeps in contact with her fans on all the major social media sites: Instagram, Twitter , Facebook , and YouTube.
According to Cindy's personal website, she is an accomplished actress in theater and television. She has been in films with many famous actors such as Jack Black, James Brolin, Francis Fisher, Steve Martin, Andie MacDowell, Ashley Tisdale, Owen Wilson, and Barry Watson.
