Roxy VS Foxy- How and Why some can take them daily- but others die from taking ONE pill

A view from inside the heart of the opiate - opiod epidemic

While the photo above is not an optical illusion of any sort, it will be seen differently by different viewers.

To a person who has never done street or pharmaceutical drugs: the photo might simply appear to be a handful of pills

To someone who has a personal prescription or a loved one who is prescribed pain medication: the photo might look to be a handful of Roxicodone, or in it's generic form Oxycodone- more popularly referred to as "Roxy"

To someone who is familiar with street drugs, and is somehow involved in the opiate/opiod epidemic- either directly, by association or by profession: there might be suspicion that the pills in the photo above could be potentially deadly imposters!

..and you know what?....

Those who suspect these to be imposter pills are absolutely CORRECT. These pills are made in bulk, by use of molds that cast an exact replica of the popular pain pharmaceutical, known as "Roxy." The color, the shape, the size, the details, the imprints- these pills are made to look EXACTLY like a Roxy, and are often sold on the streets as Roxy's... But these imposter pills do not contain the same ingredients as a Roxy... Therefore when someone buys these imposter pills on the streets, thinking they are buying Roxy pills, it is not uncommon for this to be their final purchase- and the one that sends them to the morgue.

The imposter pills are now referred to on the streets as "Foxy"- for "Fake Roxy" OR for "Fentanyl Roxy"- because while they look exactly like a "Roxy" pill, the imposter pills are made up of Fentanyl and other random fillers.

If you've heard anything about Fentanyl, you understand why these little imposter pills can be deadly. It is worth mentioning that since the pills aren't made by professionals in labs and under regulation like Roxy pills are- Foxy pills are sort of "luck of the draw"- in that the measurements aren't exactly the same in every pill... Two Foxy pills from the same batch could deliver very different outcomes: one might have a deadly dose of Fentanyl, while one may have hardly any.

In any case, the risk that comes with each Foxy pill is not one that detours some levels of street high-seekers... Yes, as crazy as it sounds, there are certain street drug users who are actually out there SEEKING Foxy pills!! Why? Because there is sort of a common order that an opiate users path tends to follow...

Some people who are prescribed pain pills are smart enough to stick with only what is prescribed by their doctor... But then there are other patients who will blame a certain circumstance or event for being what lead them to graduate on to street drugs... Maybe they lost insurance coverage; Maybe their doctor dropped them as a patient or lowered their dosage; Maybe their tolerance exceeded what their prescription medication could control and the pain was just too much to bear..... There are plenty of different reasons which users will blame for them making the change.. But once they make the change it usually goes in this order:

Prescription Pain Meds - Graduates to Heroin - Graduates to Foxy's - Graduates to straight Fentanyl

If you're wondering why some people will die by taking a Foxy, while others can actually maintain with Foxy as their drug of choice, here is how that works:

So, when it comes to Foxy, those who intentionally use this drug understand that there is only one way it should be taken: and that is by way of smoking it. Smoking Foxy doesn't completely eliminate risk of fatality- however, it drastically reduces it and makes way for it's user to get even higher than they would by taking heroin. Foxy users understand that inhaling the smoke that a burning Foxy emits is the only way to consume this drug in a capacity that is likely to allow them to live through "enjoying" the drugs high.

Now, meanwhile, if a Roxy-user buys Foxy by mistake/accident, under the false impression that they are buying Roxy... Of course, they'll have no idea what they've just got themselves into and therefore they go about consuming it, blindly. People who use Roxy pills recreationally tend to take them in different ways: some people "pop" them, or take them orally; some people take them nasally by crushing and snorting them; some smoke them on foil; some even dissolve Roxy pills in water and administer them intravenously or by way of injecting them straight into their bloodstream with a needle.

So, naturally, if a person sets out to purchase Roxy pills and is tricked or dooped by a dirtbag dealer who sells them these imposter pills instead, claiming that they are Roxy pills.... (Which by the way, happens all the time- because, again, Foxy pills are purposely made specifically to replicate Roxy pills, to the T!!) .. As you can imagine, that Roxy user- having absolutely no idea that they've just been fooled into purchasing Foxy- will administer the drug in the same way that they would normally do a Roxy.... So they might take it orally, nasally or even intravenously- which delivers the entire contents of the entire pill right into their system- which is the most common way that taking Foxy pills ends up resulting in death.

Why would a dealer feel the need to trick their Roxy-seeking customer into buying Foxy? Roxicodone/Oxycodone pills, "Roxy," are worth at least a dollar per MG on the street... The Blue Roxy pill that Foxys designed to replicate is a 30 MG pill.... So that means that just ONE Roxy pill could bring $30 AT LEAST..... In one monthly prescription of Roxy, a doctor might write anywhere from one pill per day (typical monthly amount prescribed to someone with a previously broken back) all the way up to three or four pills per day (typical monthly amount prescribed to a cancer patient).

Why are Roxy pills so dang expensive?! Besides the feeling and pain-relief these pills offer, they are priced high because a person can only get real Roxy pills by being prescribed by a pain management doctor. Those who are able to get a prescription typically really need their pills, so they don't usually want to let go of them. The process of getting a Roxy prescription is one that most drug dealers just aren't fit to achieve. They would first have to have a good, solid reason to be prescribed: i.e. record and ongoing pain from past severe injury or chronic health condition.  Not to mention, they would have to have health insurance, the ability to pass a drug test at their office visit every month, and a way to get to and from that office visit....

Now, keeping all of that in mind, a recent study concluded that in the production of Foxy pills it costs no more than thirty cents per pill to (illegally) make.... And since there are no doctor visits or hoops to jump through in order to obtain Foxys, it's safe to assume that the first level dealers are getting them for a dollar or two, and then tax is added as it goes down the line, from hand-to-hand.... But as far as prices typical street dealers are investing in Foxys, they usually pay no more than five bucks per pill.

To some low-life, greedy scumbag dealers out here, apparently that $25 per-pill profit is or greater value than the lives of their buyers....

Stay safe out there,
