Chapter 1 The Spring Field Trip

It was March, and Spring Break was only two days away as twins, Zhane and Vitani were discussing the big school camping trip with their friends in the cafeteria.

Ooh, I can't wait to go to Camp Braveheart, said Vitani.

I'm with you on that sis, we're finally in 7th grade and the spring field trip is something I looked forward to since Middle school started, said Zhane.

The best part is that all 7 of us are going, said Tommy.

Well, I'm making sure to bring all of the essentials, Mosquito spray, first aid kit, and snacks for hiking trips, said Jose.

Dude, you're seriously gonna be one of those campers, Michael asked.

Hey! I don't plan on having dozens of Mosquito bites thank you.

Give Jose a break. It's better to have medical supplies than not at all, said Zhane.

Anyway, all of us are going to be in a cabin. Zhane and the guy on the boy's side of the camp, while Kimiko, Ruby and I will be on the girl's side, said Vitani.

There is only one flaw with your group Vee. It's 4 to a cabin and since Ashley Banks broke her ankle you're only left with 3 members.

Zhane is right so your group would have an appointed member said, Tommy.

True, but I'm sure the new girl would be a good bunkmate.

And hopefully a good teammate for the Camp Olympics, because our squad is bringing home the gold, said Ruby.

Well, so we’re gonna have a classic battle of the sexes competition. This should be interesting, said Tommy.

Agreed, said Kimiko.

Then it's settled; henceforth we're all best friends, but come the Camp Olympics, the teams are bitter rivals, said Michael.

You sure have a way with words Mike, said Jose.

So, Vee may the best team win, said Zhane.

The twins shook hands as the boys and girls stared daggers at each other.

Chapter 2 Camp Braveheart

The twins were scattering in their rooms making sure they had everything packed camp.

Okay I have my flashlight, extra shirts, bug spray, snacks. Alright good to go.

Zhane ran to his sister's room when he heard the bus pull in front of the house.

Vee! The bus is here! It's time to go!

Coming!

Vitani dashed out of her room with Zhane right behind her. Have fun at camp you two, yelled Mom.

The twins ran to their mother and gave her a big hug and kiss.

Bye Mom said Vitani.

See you in 2 weeks, said Zhane.

See ya! Mom yelled back.

Zhane and Vitani jetted outside and onto the buss where their friends greeted them.

Kimiko, Tommy, Jose are you guys ready for camp? Vitani asked.

You know it. I got all of my supplies and ready for the outdoors, said Jose.

Michael and Ruby are the next pickups and then the whole gang will be here, said Kimiko.

The bus eventually picked up Michael and Ruby.

Awesome. All 7 of us are here. Let's make Camp Braveheart a trip to remember, said Zhane.

The kids did a group high five as the bus arrived at Camp Braveheart soon after. Everyone was excited and were greeted by the boss by the Camp Master.

Hello boys and girls, my name is Shawn Ramirez, and I will be your leader here at Camp Braveheart. I hope all of you have a great time here as long as you follow the rules. Males and females stay in their designated areas during lights out and do not disrupt the flow of camp. As long as you do those things there won't be any problems.

Now your camp IDs have your cabin number and animal on them. Your assigned counselor will greet you when you're settled. Once again, be safe and have fun ladies and gentlemen.

The campers started to scatter to their respective cabins.

Well, the girls and I are in the Silver Falcon cabin, said Vitani.

Cool. The boys are in the Blue Wolves cabin, said Zhane. Looks like that's gonna be our team names at the Braveheart Olympics.

Definitely, and the Silver Falcons will dominate.

We'll see about that Vee.

Oh boy, they're in competition mode, said Ruby.

Zhane and Vitani's groups walked to their cabins to finish unpacking.

Hey, shouldn't our fourth bunkmate be here by now? Kimiko asked.

Yeah, you're right. I wonder what's taking so long, said Vitani.

Suddenly the cabin door burst open, and Rachel Owens came through.

Hey ladies! The fun has arri-.

She opened her eyes to see Vitani and the girls in shock.

Oh, you gotta be kidding me?! My bunkmates are you three?

Great. So much for having a fun time at camp, said Vitani.
