Over And Over Again
Drabble Drop : Slide
“Honey, it’s not a good idea to go to the park, it’s too hot outside. Let’s go this evening when it cools down.”
But Andy wasn’t having it. In his five year old mind, it was the perfect time to go to the park and he persisted until Mum gave in.
The two of them walked the 100 metres and as soon as Andy spotted the big, silver metal slide, he took off at a run.
It didn’t matter that the metal was boiling, Andy climbed those stairs, happily sliding to the ground over and over again, giggling with glee.
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘slide'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

I did that too when I was a kid. Horrifying to think about it now! Good job on bringing those childhood memories!
Omgggg, I remember those days! The slide would burn my butt but I'd still happily slide down it. This was so nostalgic!
