Breathless from running, and struggling to maintain his growing anxiety, he raced toward her home. Best friends since forever, they had shared every major life event like brother and sister, but they weren’t. They had gathered many more of those small things that only had meaning through a shared lifetime. They would always be friends and as her friend, he was once again hurrying to comfort her through her latest drama.

Entering her bedroom, he was stunned to find her sitting demurely on her bed, with her legs crossed but completely naked.

I thought she really knew me.
