Tony was dead to the world, enjoying a rather raunchy dream, when he was ripped from his sleep by an unearthly scream.

He flew from his bed and frantically looked around his room but the scream came from the kitchen. He headed that way in a panic.

As he ran through the kitchen doorway, he noticed Angela standing at the kitchen sink, washing her hand under the faucet.

“What happened honey, do you need to go to emergency for stitches?” Tony asked worriedly.

Angela turned to her husband and smiled, “Sorry love, it’s just a tiny paper cut is all.”

This drabble has been written as part of the daily Drabble Drop challenge and today's random word, that must be included in the drabble, is 'paper'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
