Mama’s Boy
I’ve been a fiancé for four years and three months. We’ve been together for six and a half years total, and we have a two-month-old son together. I can’t help but think that we’ll never get married. We haven’t even decided on a wedding date. When I bring it up, he tries to escape the room as if he’s late for something more important.

Vocal & my relationship to publishing traditionally
Ever since my small writing beginnings, when I started writing on Vocal in February 2021, I had been in a truly terrible slump & funk when it came to my writing. I had so many unfinished projects, ideas, half finished manuscripts and first chapters that were going nowhere.

Ooh, you had me at “memoir.” I’ve been wanting to write a series of personal essays about how my day jobs shaped my journey as a writer. The first “chapter” was my story Make Money, Not Friends—which did quite well here. This inspires me to continue it with new chapters. I love reading serialized fiction, and I can’t wait to see how others utilize this new community. Thanks Vocal. 🩷
