While it is already certain that Bella Hadid is fashion’s princess, now the model emerges as beauty and wellness’ one too.

On February 22, her label Orebella was announced, although what it would produce was not yet known. From the angel numbers, stones, crystals, and nature photos and statements – “reveal your alchemy” – shared on the brand's Instagram page, it was known that the business was about self-care with a spiritual touch.

After more than two months full of hints and clues on what was on the way, on May 2, the brand announced its mission: fragrance. In a video announcement, the model and now businesswoman defines Orebella “a project born straight from my soul”.

According to Hadid in her social platforms, the enterprise has been in the works for over five years. "I began to use pure essential oils of every form. From floral to woodsy to citrus to herbal, I became obsessed with concocting the perfect scents that had unique and interesting twists," she states in the label site.

As a person with sensible skin and alcohol sensitivity, the model wanted to find a perfume alternative, which made essential oils an artistic and experimental process for her.

"Growing lavender on my farm, walking through my garden every morning, learning about the history of my family making homemade scents, I realized I might have a calling in this. I found healing, joy, and love within nature’s scents," she further explains.

She would wear her oil blends every day,no matter the occasion. "It made me feel more connected to not only myself, but to others that would find joy in them as well," Hadid says. And when complimented on her fragrance, she realized that maybe her scent passion was not destined to be personal. “It could be something that inspires beauty and devotion to scent in others too."

With Orebella, her main mission is to make the users connected to themselves, physically and mentally. The name itself, Orebella, refers to aura, which in mysticism and astrology, means the energy field that surrounds living beings and represents their emotions and current spiritual state."My team and I ended up brainstorming Orebella spelled this way, which is the phonetic spelling of aura," Bella Hadid explained in a Harper's Bazaar interview with beauty director Jenna Rosenstein.

Instead of focusing only on the scent appeal, Hadid chose to also include the scientific, well-being, and spiritual factor. Orebella is the first intentional skin perfume for sensitive skin. It is alcohol free, vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologist tested, skin nourishing, and elevated with essential oils, such as rose, geranium, and almond sweet fixed oil.

Its formula has a transformative base, where its top layer has the fragrance and essential oils, and the bottom one its exclusive Orelixir base, made from hydrating snow, mushrooms, and a moisturizing five oils blend. According to Bella Hadid, this formula “leaves your skin feeling soft and makes the fragrance last longer.” She recommends shaking before using, in order to activate the two layers.

“These scents are a blending of my past, my present, and my future. This is Orebella.”

For now, Orebella contains three scents: Window2Soul, Salted Muse, and Blooming Fire. Each one inspired by the healing powers of nature and her own memories and life experiences. “I want people’s emotions to be triggered when they smell them. I want people to feel nostalgic of something from their childhood … have a sense of peace knowing all of our experiences are not singular,” she shared with Harper’s Bazaar.

Window2soul is defined as a sheer floral scent, with jasmine, rose, lemon, and tonka bean hints. It was inspired by all the powerful women in Hadid’s life and their eternal love. The intention though is to make us feel like we are walking through a garden and all of these smells just collide in our nose. “You don’t know what it is, but it smells beautiful and fresh,” Hadid said to Rosenstein.

Salted Muse is woody marine, with sea salt, olive tree, cedarwood, and lavender touches. According to the model, Salted Muse is an ode to her ancestors, a souvenir of the past and remembrance of her childhood by the sea. When describing the fragrance, Hadid shares that it makes her feel like she has just dived into the ocean and got water up her nose.

Lastly, Blooming Fire is a warm floral scent with monoi, bergamot, and patchouli notes. Hadid shares that “it feels like when the sunset falls after feeling limitless under the golden rays.”

She defines the monoi scent as nostalgic, be it from sunscreen or a body oil one buys in a grocery store while traveling. "It kind of makes you feel like you’re sitting on the beach and watching the sunset," Hadid adds. For her, the sweetness of monoi is balanced with the flower patchouli, in which you just feel like a floating butterfly flying on the beach.

Proud of Orebella, her dream and passion, that through immense dedication became her brand, Hadid shares that "it’s an art project turned product, that I can wear on my body and flaunt with confidence." Now it 's ours too.
