Over the rainbow and back again, every-time I meet my new

Rent-A-Mom. Showering me with temporal love.

Passing the same thing to another in a month.

Holy grounds is where I found,

Adoption papers signed in blood, that nailed my identity to his brow.

Never once was I ever really fatherless.

Very heartfelt and poignant! Congrats on another top story!

  • "Signed in blood?" - Is this about religion?

Adopt A Mom showering you with temporal love. Kids without parents or with parents who are emotionally absent have it tough. A hard poem to read but one harder to write. Congrats on TS!!

Wow, this is heart-wrenching, especially the last line. If one has a father, are they really an orphan? I understand what the poem means, I'm just interested linguistically as English is not my native language.

Wow, so glad I stopped to read this acrostic poem this morning. This was well-done, and it feels like it has so many layers to unpack despite the brevity of the poem! The last line especially got me as it's not only in contrast to the rent-a-mom, but it could be interpreted as an orphan finding hope/faith in a higher power/religion like a father figure, or it could be a more sarcastic/cynical line that has nothing to do with faith at all. Really got my brain working! Congrats on top story! c:

It's lovely and gloomy at the same time. And yes, having a family, an identity, and the search for stability are important and resonate with many people. Sometimes, our biological mothers can't take care of us in the way we expect from a mom, and sometimes, an adopted child gets exceptional relationships. But whatever the case, children's mental stability and responses affect a lot.

Hard hitting in all the best ways, ways that only the written word can expose. Powerful work here.

Great insight into the little ones who get passed from one home to the next. So sad. I grew up with many in my home and I inherited some of my own. Wonderful insightful words.
