A Black Tie Specialty
Fiction Shorts word of the day: Necessary
Paul sets the table with their finest silverware and china. Chrystal glasses shining.
Mark’s dressing in his newest tuxedo, looking fantastically handsome as always.
Stan is mixing elaborate cocktails and lining them up on the sideboard.
All the necessary ingredients for a wonderful black tie dinner.
As the three men stand around chatting about their day, the wafting of roasting flesh drifts throughout the house.
Their dinner date is almost sizzled to perfection. Simon announces, “I hope she tastes as delicious as she looked when she first arrived, boys.”
With a little chuckle, he heads into the kitchen to serve.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
