All writers share one condition.

Babes to adults, one affliction.

Confidence, in one thing matters.

Defining self, our pens to master.

Every bard is clawing, scrawling,

Fighting, laughing, blaming, bawling.

Going to sleep, awakening to hell,

Hurling our truths, the world to tell.

Inset paranoia racks our work,

Judges, like gods, drive us berserk.

Kaleidoscope’s flash on challenge day.

Losing with class. “Congrats” we say.

“Magnificent piece” is honestly said,

Noting their prize, we climb into bed.

One day, some way, my name they’ll call.

Prizes are nice, but in light of it all.

Quintessentially speaking, we aren’t weak.

Retrospective, the V word brings peace.

Singular is this one thing we need.

Typing, tapping, and plowing weeds.

Understand, the thing we desire,

Validation is all, it’s how we are wired.

Winning is great but kudos rule.

Xyris, the wine of writing fools.

Your eyes see us, our work is read,

Zestfully destroying our writers dread.

So many good lines in here, and this speaks to the heart of what it means to create something for other people to study. "Your eyes see us, our work is read, Zestfully destroying our writers dread." is excellent, and this flows so well that I didn't even realise it was an Abecedarian! Well done:)

Hurray! The V word comes through. Excellent play on words, Scott and Happy New Year!

  • This is amazing! I was genuinely just enjoying it and appreciating how it pulled out concepts of writing that I resonate with, and I didn’t even notice it was an abecedarian until we hit X. Very very cool.

Validation works wonders for the topic of discussion. Victory? On the other hand, might have repercussions. Valor is needed to take the demonstrate Valuing our work, while others pontificate Vying about how they should've won Verifying that there's more work they should've done Value is subjective even with guidelines in place Vices of perfection won't allow one to move forward and face Valiantly the music that they need to hear Verbosity jabbers forever, brevity speaks Volumes of what's near and dear Veils are lifted once Victors are announced Visiting Vocal's Variety provides new Views, not just reads but Vineyards of inspiration that begin to seed Visions validify traversing Veils Vivid stories built of words, like ships, set sail Ventilating Vindications Violently, Vitally, writers search for Validation

This flows beautifully, I'm a bit jealous! Do we really all want the V word, though? I dunno, it's nice, but the older I get the fewer effs I give 😁
