It was Friday night,
With the weekend in sight,
And a dozen weekend dreamers,
Preparing for a flight,
When out of the blue,
First one, and then a few,
Were cut off from the network,
Could access nothing new.
Maybe I’ve been hacked!
I haven’t lately backed
Up went a dozen voices,
Our evening plans are whacked!
Then all around the world,
A miracle unfurled,
When writers talked to loved ones,
As tired spines uncurled.
Though some were rather surly,
And feelings were quite swirly,
This Friday night was magical,
Writers went to bed quite early!

I wish it had the same result for me! Spent way to much time checking for a password reset email that wasn’t necessary or ever going to come…
OMG.... the appreciation I have for this piece!!!! I just can't!!! This rings so true and hits me so hard!!! I'm speechless to explain to you how much I truly love how relatable and twistedly funny I found this!!! Thank you for this Hannah!!
It wasn’t just me? Well that’s a relief. Or something….
Glitches cause stitches!!
Yeah, that reads about write.
Thanks for the fun look at our mild panic. After a quick verification on social media that everyone was having trouble, I took the afternoon and evening off. Pam and I stayed up late catching up on streaming episodes. Woke up this morning to a nice thunderstorm, so that's a bonus.
Love that you wrote this. Totally relatable! My back unfurled! 🤣
Thank you for the reminder to back up my stories! I haven't done that in a while!
Still glitchy for me. I still can't save anything with the title picture that Vocal requires. (Error source 400, whatever that is.)
Oh you mean Vocal being down? It happened when I was asleep so I woke up to so many people in FB being so afraid they were hacked hehehe
You spoke for all of us.
I am still trying to publish a poem I completed at noon, the better to keep this "publish or perish" challenge with L.C., Rachel and Gerard alive. If Vocal thwarts my efforts, I will not despair. The Oilers won this evening despite long odds, so the gods have smiled upon me in any event. Thanks for capturing this silliness in verse, as I shall also try to do!
Vocal down? Yes, I spent the evening planting and reading in the garden until the bats came out. A very enjoyable evening.
I love the sentiment of this. After some slogging in the garden I was a bit miffed to not have access...but we just watched some TV instead...you have such a fun and eloquent way of putting together even the most normal of things and elevating it. Loved it, Hannah!
