I Need to Write a Poem
Weekend need to achieve
I sit up on my bed
On this sunny Saturday afternoon.
Saturday,
a day when I'm supposed to be resting.
But rested on my the top of my lap
Is...
You guessed it.
My laptop.
I know it shouldn't be there
Not only is it a potential health hazard
I'm supposed to NOT be working today.
Not Working.
Not Writing.
But I crave
So badly to write
One poem for Vocal, I tell myself.
"Just one!"
Yet, the mind draws a blank
What do I write about?
The body is on "holiday" mood
It doesn't understand weekends
But Wednesdays and Saturdays are strictly "no work"
Neither do I have the energy to play, though
As clearly, there's something in me
That just wants to write
Maybe this is my body's "play"
"Playing with words".
It wants to write now,
Write to feed the community
Write to maybe feed the wallet (if it's good enough).
"Achieve more!" the brain says
"Get something done!"
While the body doesn't want to move much
Somehow, they coordinate together
To write this poem
About the need to
Write a poem.
Done.
