What is Vladimir Putin's new plan to destroy NATO?
As the war in Ukraine continues, it's become apparent that Putin's ambitions extend beyond Ukraine, with NATO being a key barrier to Russia's expansion plans. 🕵️♂️🌍
Before invading Ukraine, Putin approached NATO with three hard boundaries: prevent NATO's expansion near Russia's borders, remove weapons deployed near Russian borders, and dismantle NATO bases in countries that joined after 1996. 😠📜
Putin's not just trying to push NATO around; he wants to destroy it completely! And how does he plan to do that? By constantly threatening to go to war with NATO countries, especially with the whole nuclear weapons card. ☢️😱
Imagine this: Russia decides to launch an attack using its military bases in Kaliningrad and Belarus. They could create a wall between Poland and Lithuania, effectively cutting off the Baltic countries from the rest of Europe. Sneaky, right? 😏
While the integration of Sweden and Finland into NATO has complicated Russia's plans, Putin may still rely on Russia's willingness to sacrifice its soldiers in a war of attrition against NATO. 😢💀
Russia is also exploiting the unequal military spending among NATO countries and the possibility of the U.S. leaving NATO if Donald Trump wins the 2024 presidential election. 😈🤷♂️
Putin's been using the threat of nukes to keep NATO countries from helping Ukraine too much. It's all part of his "reflexive control theory," which is basically just a fancy way of saying "I'm gonna scare you into doing what I want." 🤐☢️
Economically, Russia has managed to surpass its growth projections despite numerous sanctions, largely due to shifting its export strategy to China and central Asia. But Russia's been hit with more sanctions than a kid with a fake ID trying to buy beer. 🍺❌
Russia's actions have led to a noticeable shift against global trade, with the U.S. and China drifting apart economically. If this trend continues, the world may revert to a Cold War-like economic structure. 📉💰
While Putin's plans face significant challenges, such as Sweden and Finland's accession to NATO and the uncertainty of U.S. politics, the threat to NATO's unity and effectiveness remains a concern as the war in Ukraine continues. 😤🤬

"you’ll learn to grow cataracts and a bottomless pit." I just adore that line!
Oooft this poem is really good, Mackenzie! I feel exactly like Joe did. Wonderful!
Feels almost like a child that has grown up, pushing back against the failings of their parents. I like the vulture imagery especially!

"In times of grief, I will turn my ear from you, redirect pathways from devouring motifs and rest in what you are." These lines were my favourite! Loved your Acrostic!
It's really hard to feel disparaging after that beautiful picture though!
Damn...this hit hard...hard hard...and in beautiful language. I love the first line and the bracketed bit...made it feel conversational...like a letter...to someone...not particularly nice. obviously. Another amazing entry, Mackenzie pal. Well done!
