I'll not accept defeat. In failure's shadow we often find the strength to discover, redefine. Fail, yet rise-our stories bind

Jasmin was walking down the corridor.

She knocked on the door. Research director Dr. Allen bhabha told her to come in. She noticed Dr. Allen’s narrowed eyes, a sharp glance directed at her, conveying a clear message of disapproval without the need for words.

Jas took a deep breath.

“wave particle duality refraction theory: a new perspective in ray optics…. What a shit, you have done ctrl+c, ctrl+v, ctrl+c, ctrl+v. Best of luck for your 12th grade project submission.”

Jas was standing still. Allen said, Look , nothing can be proved by the theory, we need experimental evidence. Without the evidence it is just looking like a Sci-Fi Technological Quest.

I don't have the slightest idea why you are so mindless these days. Can you be more focused?

Jas's voice tinged with a mix of frustration and vulnerability, “I understand your concerns.”

Jas went to the lab, after leaving the room.

She sat on the chair. Jas wanted to cry out loud, but a sudden silence enveloped her. Her breath hitched; the fluorescent lights overhead seemed to blur into a painfully bright and harsh light source. Her heart raced, she was experiencing a palpitation. She was trying hard to breathe, even trying to breathe with her mouth open. Without knowing she was having a fully fledged panic attack. With her weak eyes she saw Sarah, her research assistant was asking her “are you feeling ill, sh. Should I call the doctor” Jas lost her speech, she hardly nodded her head to say yes.

She discovered herself lying on her bed, she could barely manage to remember that before Sarah brought her home, there was a crowd of her fellow researchers when the doctor was treating her. And someone came there and told them to get back to their work, the drama is over………..

Oh, you woke up! Her mother, Marianne asked..

Jas tried to hide her tears. Marianne sat beside her. Marianne took her hand. There was deep silence, they could feel what were the things that were bothering them.

After a while Marianne said to Jas, “ We don't talk much with each other, I know you have great responsibilities”. Jas said “talk with me”. Marianne looked at her eyes, asked what does ‘success’ mean to you at this stage of your life? Jas let out a sigh, “I have lost my interest, in which that was my dream job. I feel like a failure. The spark of innovation isn't as bright as it used to be. Sometimes it feels like it was my madness when I was in school and I used to think that being a scientist is my passion, my soul's purpose. I have tried to do my work with my full potential, but I have no idea like uh..why an invisible force resists me. I really want to be responsible about my work. But when I go to the place which used to be the best place in the universe, I feel like I don't belong there.”

I know you are a great scientist, you may have a bad time for a long time.

I know it seems like you are lost in the stars, but every discovery was once deemed impossible. Your passion hasn't faded, it's just….. searching for a new horizon……

Before Marianne finished her words, Jas replied But the irony is I'm trying hard to reach there but still writing theory or according to our project coordinator, the innovative design.

Marianne replied I understand, the expectations there are so high, despite all efforts, you can't seem to find the breakthrough you need. But jas please don't let your creativity be crushed. I know you will find out your way, you just need to think about it creatively. Creative problem solving can help you to achieve your groundbreaking discoveries.

But imagination, and artistic creativity can't do anything. They have no power to prove my discovery! Jas told with a hopeless sigh.

Marianne softly smiled and said to come with her. She took Jas to her studio. Jas looked at the beautiful paintings. “They are beautiful, innovative designs and a great piece of art!”

“Yea, but they are not just a piece of art, they are my creativity they are my vulnerability, when I gaze through windows I can see the buildings, the Birds and they hit me like a bullet, and then I feel like an artist and feel the need to draw them with my own creativity. They are the invisible catalyst. At its core, creativity in science is the art of asking “what if'' and “why not”. It's the courage to challenge the status quo and the resilience to embrace the unknown. It's what led Marie Curie to unlock the secrets of radioactivity. At the heart of creativity lies the brain's intricate neural networks. Jas you only need a creative mindset, and….

And that's it, I believe in you, I know what you are not able to find out is only with you. you just have to think about it.”

Jas went to her room, she really didn't know what happened to her, why the bright rays of enthusiasm had faded. She can't find out the cause of her detachment. What kind of bewilderment she was going through, she was trying to detangle that. She was continuously thinking parallels between her rigorous experiments and artistic inspirations in her subconscious mind. A sudden desire to open the research file led her to the PC. She was going through her research papers.

Wave particle duality refraction theory

Introduction

The study of light and its properties has been a subject of interest for centuries. Traditional Ray Optics primarily treats light as rays that refract or reflect off the surface. This paper proposes a theory that combines wave and particle nature of light to explain refraction………..she shut down her PC.

Lied down on her bed. She was whispering in a very low tone Experimental setup can be monochromatic light to emit individual Photons, a double slit…..

In a hurry she dressed up and left for the lab. She took her experimental set-up, but with a new enthusiasm and aspiration. During the procedure she was looking at the photographic plate.

She asked to herself “what is creativity?”

About the Creator

shrey

I like to discuss very deep about all human qualities. And when the question rises "WHY" behind the consequences that we have accepted as a very simple or general phenomena. I love to discover that WHY.
